A shop fit for royalty

As a proud holder of the Royal Warrant for over 50 years, the quality of Bendicks® chocolates is world renowned. It is no surprise therefore that, earlier this month, Bendicks wished to continue this first-class quality through to its presence at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a perennial favourite of Her Majesty the Queen.
Bendicks has been present at this prestigious event for a number of years, but with the show, in its 75thyear, and with the added appeal of a Royal wedding following hot on the show’s heels, it was sure to be a sell out from start to finish.
Set in the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle, the show runs annually for five days to cover a range of equestrian events across five arenas from jumping, driving and dressage to show and displays. It also offers an ever-growing shopping area filled with an array of country and lifestyle brands including an exclusive area dedicated to Royal Warrant Holders of which Bendicks was one. Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition of those who supply goods or services to the Households of HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales.
Our brief was to deliver a first-class shop experience to be sited within the Royal Warrant Holders Association Pavilion from which Bendicks could sample and sell their famous mint chocolate range, including the iconic Bittermints. The shop had to be chocolate box pretty as it is modelled on the brand’s original Mayfair store which opened back in 1933. The brand also kept their pop-up experience relevant through exclusive show offerings such as a yard of Bittermints, and a unique enamelling piece on display from QEST (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust) scholar Harry Forster-Stringer.
With the show having suffered from excessive rain in recent years and in the weeks leading up to the event, we weren’t sure what the weather would throw at us. We were however lucky enough to benefit from some of the warmest spring days on record, so ensuring the mints were kept chilled and delivered to customers at the perfect temperature was imperative.
Working closely alongside Bendicks and the show’s organisers, Toucan’s sampling credentials and attention to detail ensured that the experience was second to none. So if you’re in a situation where only the best will do for your next consumer experience, you know where to come!
